08 Days Central Tibet tour starts with a panoramic flight over the Himalayas to Gonggar airport in Lhasa then we drive to Yarlung Tsangpo valley, the cradle of Tibetan civilization. It is believed that as per the legend the ogress & the monkey mated here and the Tibetan race began. We will spend some time exploring the mystic Yarlung Tsangpo Valley by visiting some of the great early historical sites such as the Samye Monastery, the first Monastic institution built in early 07th century; the castle of Yumbulakhang which is the oldest known dwelling in Tibet, reputedly the home of the Yarlong Kings. 08 Days Central Tibet Tour then travels through the southern route past Yamdrok Tso, the Turquoise Lake, to the historical towns of Gyangtse & Shigatse. From Shigatse we take the Northern route through the scenic, rugged countryside of the nomads, culminating our tour in Lhasa, the Forbidden City.
