Imagine
learning the climbing/mountaineering skills and techniques from
our experienced instructors, and applying what you've learned
to climb 6,119 m Lobuje East, one of the most technical mountains
of the eighteen trekking peaks in the Majestic Himalayan Kingdom
of Nepal - it sure gives load of excitement.
The
kingdom of Nepal surrounded by the Himalayan ranges to its North
offers a challenging ground for people whose passion is climbing
/ mountaineering. The Everest region as always is the best arena
for executing this program.
Cho
La Base camp will host the start of the training program; it is
here that you will be trained for a total of four days on the
skills of crevasse rescue, glacier travel, ice climbing, snow
craft and general mountaineering. After three nights at the base
camp, it is time for you to realize your imagination of being
on top 6119 m peak. You will now get the long awaited opportunity
to put your learned skills to the test. On the 4th day you will
venture to the high camp, you will have two days to climb this
technical mountain with a route that offers one of the most challenging
terrains; the ridges are narrow, the walls are steep, and you
will be constantly challenged by crevasses of various sizes and
at different locations as per the season. This route is chosen
because it is not only challenging for trained novice mountaineers
who are with experienced instructors, but it also provides a great
introduction to mountaineering. Although the climb itself should
not take more than 10 hours from high camp depending on the conditions
and the group, the two days takes into account the possi- bility
of bad weather or illnesses on the way to the summit. Our goal
is to make sure that we facilitate the goal of your trip by being
flexible enough in terms of the climbing schedule, as long as
the health status of the members in the group is fine.
ACCLIMATIZATION
Remember that you are going to be in the ranges of the highest
mountains in the world. Acclimatization is therefore key to surviving
and achieving your goal throughout the trip. You should take your
time acclimatizing before setting for the trip.
PHYSICAL-CONDITION
We cannot emphasize enough the need for you to be physically and
mentally fit before you start our mountaineering program. Be assured
that you will need all the physical and mental endurance to battle
the exhaustion on your way to the summit. Therefore, we highly
encourage that you start building up your physical stamina by
indulging yourself in various physical activities, be it running,
walking, swimming, or other sports.
FAVORABLE-SEASONS-FOR-CLIMBING
March, April and May, October and November are the five optimum
months to summit a peak in Nepal. Out of the five months, October
and November are the most popular months since the blue skies
and the high snow lines offer the trekkers the right conditions
for a great trek.
