Bhutan

Bhutan’s mountain trails are still unpolluted and pristine. Trekking in Bhutan is an adventure into the wilderness of the high alpine meadows, across luscious carpets of wild flowers. The trails are colorful, uncrowded and lead over the mountain passes with magnificent views of snow-clad Himalayan mountain ranges. There are no lodges or hotels in the hills you are fully with nature. Also trek to Bhutan offers you the opportunity to explore the unique insight of the rural culture of the Kingdom.

General Information :

Trekking in Bhutan is not a climbing trip. You can easily walk on any trail without the aid of ropes or mountaineering skills. Also Bhutan’s regulations prohibit all mountaineering activities.

When to Visit :

Best time to trek in Bhutan is between late September to mid November. Whereas late March to mid-May provides warmer weather and blooming rhododendron, but there is a higher chance of rain. Extreme variety of altitudes and climates makes it hard to generalize.

Style of Trips :

Government rules dictate that all treks must be arranged as camping trips. This is also because there are no lodges or hotels in the hills. Bhutanese crew will accompany the group, they will be setting the camp, cook and serve marvelous meals. You need to carry your backpack with only a water bottle, camera and jacket.

Wilderness Experience :

Once you are out off the road to begin your trek you will be in complete wilderness most of the time. There are no planes flying overhead, no roads and very few villages; instead there are views of snow-capped peaks and forested hillsides stretching to eternity. Also much of the treks are in protected areas so there are good opportunities to see wildlife in its native habitat.

Physical Fitness :

Most of the trek in Bhutan is physically demanding so one really needs to be in a good shape of health before undertaking the trip. Trails are demanding because of its length and the almost unbelievable changes in elevation.
