Please read the following information carefully before you decide to take part in one of our tour programs. As we want you to fully understand our policies and terms & condition.

DETAILS ON GENERAL INFORMATION AND BOOKING HOLIDAYS

Getting There :

Bhutan boosted in tourism only from the year 1974 when the third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuk decided to make Bhutan a part of International Community. His policy was to take a series of careful steps as tourism was not a part of his modernization program. This policy has achieved the goal of keeping numbers low. In 1974 only 5365 tourists visited Bhutan. The Royal Government of Bhutan insists that foreign visitors travel as package tourists with a pre-planned itinerary. In order to visit you will have to confirm to its very rules of tourism. You can buy space in a tour group or travel .


By Air :

Easiest way to Bhutan is by taking a Druk Air flight to Paro the only airport in Bhutan. Druk Air operates flight to Bhutan every Monday & Thursday. The national airline of Bhutan/Druk Air operates with connection from Calcutta, Delhi, Dhaka and Bangkok.


By Road :

Phuntsholing is the entry point in the Indian Border in the state of West Bengal.


When to Visit :

The most popular season for visiting Bhutan is October and November and also during major festival times. the climate is really pleasant during autumn from late September to late November, when the weather is clear and the high mountain peaks are visible early in the morning from the passes. Also it is a good time to trek.


CLIMATE IN GENERAL :

Summer (June-Aug.) is pleasant but wet due to monsoon. Winter (Dec.-Feb.) is cold with temperatures dropping below 0. The daytime is pleasant with clear blue sky. Spring (March-May) is the best time of the year-pleasant weather with greenery, Autumn (Sept.-Nov.) is similar to Spring but a bit warmer. In the valley Nov-March at day time 18-18 C on sunny days. Night time is mostly below freezing point. Mid March to beginning of June is 18-29 C & during July-Nov. is 16-24 C.


WHAT TO WEAR :

The wide range of temperatures does not make dressing easy. The best solution is to wear several layers, such as a cotton shirt, pullover, wool cardigan jacket, which can be taken off or added as needed. Conservative sportwear is the appropriate style for a traveller in Bhutan. Even in Summer you will need a sweater or a light jacket in the evening.


Visas :

Everyone entering Bhutan requires visa. Visa are issued only when you arrive in the country, either at Paro airport or at Phuentsholing. You must apply in advance through a tour operator and receive approval before you travel to Bhutan - it needs around 1 full working week to process the visa. You need to have US $ 20.- and two photos with your passport number written on the back.


SERVICE INCLUDES :

All meals, transfers, airfare, porterage, sightseeing as per the itinerary, English speaking guide, entrance fees to museum and twin sharing accommodation


SERVICE EXCLUDED :

Bhutan Visa fee (US $ 20.-) cash payable upon arrival by the clients directly, re-entry visa fees, insurance, drinks and expenses of personal nature.


BOOKING AND VISA :

Bhutan booking should reach us three weeks in advance with all the passport details and 50% of the tour cost. Fifteen days prior to the commencement of the tour, full payment must be paid for confirmed bookings. After the confirmation of your tour we will process all the necessary procedures for your visa approval.


CANCELLATION POLICY :

There will be 50% cancellation charge for confirmed bookings within two weeks prior to departure. No refunds thereafter. NO REFUNDS for NO SHOWS or DELAYED ARRIVALS of the clients for whatsoever reasons.


RISK AND LIABILITY :

Far Out will try to run all the tour to its best without any problem. But as all the tourism in Bhutan is strictly controlled by Tourism Authority of Bhutan and the Bhutanese tour operators, we will not be held responsible for alteration of programs, sightseeing in restricted areas, nature’s disruption for air or land, delay in the arrival of the clients vehicles, ill health, accidents or loss of personal belongings. For such inconveniences clients will have to bear the extra cost. No responsibility for change in printed program and its duration, types of vehicles used, personal belongings, luggage and change of hotels/guest houses.

Reservations: Space is limited to 4-15 participants. To reserve a space on a trip, submit the booking form with a deposit of 25% per person by bank telex transfer to our bank account. You will be sent immediate confirmation, medical information, and other pre-departure information. The balance of the tour price must be paid through bank telex transfer of 3 weeks before the departure date.


Cancellations and Refunds

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • If you cancel your expedition with us prior to 6 weeks before the date of departure, we will give you a 100% refund (minus any transfer fees and $20 charge)
  • If you cancel between 2 and 6 weeks of the departure date, you will lose 25% of the total price (plus any transfer costs )
  • If you cancel within 2 weeks of departure you will forfeit your 50% deposit.

Cancellation with any of our agents for safaris, hotels and flights will be subject to their policy at the time.

We do not make refunds for any unused portion of your trip, such as: unused hotel rooms, meals,or trek/raft/bike/sightseeing arrangements, for any reason whatsoever.
